SEDC’s Southcrest Redevelopment Project Area was adopted in 1986. The project area encompasses approximately 301 acres in the southeastern area of the City of San Diego. It is bound on the west by Highway 15 and Interstate 5, to the east by 44th Street, to the south by Gamma and Vesta Streets, and to the North by Logan Avenue. The Southcrest Redevelopment Project Area is located within the boundaries of the Renewal Community.

The Southcrest Project Area includes a variety of land uses, including 75% of residential properties; 9% of commercial land; 5% of business park facilities; 6% of park space; and 5% of open space.
