San Diego Workforce Partnership Hire-A-Youth Program, Summer 2009

SEDC Youth Workforce Partnership volunteers traveled the neighborhood streets of southeastern San Diego conducting business surveys. Business Survey Notes were an integral part of assessing effective strategies and tactics for follow up to surveys.

SEDC and the Youth Project Area Committee determined the most effective survey strategies allowing the youth volunteers to use adaptive tactics in different circumstances. Youth volunteers found that a direct and simple introduction allowed the business owner or representatives to feel comfortable.

Hire-A-Youth volunteers made every attempt to be personable and friendly with business representatives.
