For the past four years the San Diego City Council has elevated the need for housing by taking the steps necessary to declare a housing crisis in the city of San Diego.
In response to the documented housing shortage many predominately single-family neighborhoods have begun to see proposals for the development of a variety of multi-family units.
Southeastern San Diego is included in the neighborhoods experiencing this change. SEDC is now in the fifth year of a corporate focus on the issue of quality multi-family housing. We believe that condominiums, row homes, flats, apartments and live/work units which are designed properly will add to the overall character of a community.
On the left you will find an SEDC publication entitled Multi-Family Development Guidelines. This document was prepared to provide standards which are utilized in evaluating new and/or rehabilitated multi-family housing development proposals. Originally completed in 2001, this document is currently being revised. As the revisions are completed we will provide you with an opportunity to comment on the proposed revisions. |
