1981 - SEDC was incorporated

1982 - Mount Hope Redevelopment Plan adopted

1984 - Ground broken for Gateway Center East / Dennis V. Allen Park

1986 - Figi Graphics relocated to Gateway
Center East

1986 - Southcrest Redevelopment Plan adopted

1986 - SEDC purchased 252 Corridor

1989 - Commercial Press relocated to Gateway Center East from downtown

1991 - DDA/OPA approved for residential/commercial developments in the
252 Corridor

1992 - Central Imperial Redevelopment Plan adopted

1995 - Ground broken in Southcrest for new Lucky’s (now Albertson’s)

1995 - SEDC went to the bond market
($10.5 million)

1996 - Ground broken for Southcrest Park Estates (33 homes) and César Chávez Elementary School

1996 - SEDC purchased 40-acre site for development of Imperial Marketplace

1997 - Casas de Sueños (11 homes) completed

1997 - SEDC purchased 14-acre Potter Tract for development of Valencia Business Park

1998 - $1 million in public improvements constructed in Mount Hope

1998 - SEDC secured $6.8 million Section 108 Loan

1999 - Evergreen Village (56 homes) completed

1999 - SEDC purchased 4-acre industrial site at 54th & Market Streets

1999 - SEDC purchased Urban League property on Market Street

1999 - San Diego Urban League headquarters relocated to Gateway Center East

2000 - Pacifica Services and AMSEC (SAIC subsidiary) located at 54th & Market Streets

2000 - Village at Euclid (23 homes) completed

2000 - Ground broken for Imperial Marketplace

2000 - SEDC again went to the bond market
($6 million)

2000 - Multi-family guidelines completed

2001 - SEDC Jobs Housing Study completed

2001 - Ground broken for the Valencia
Business Park

2002 - Southeastern San Diego welcomes Home Depot
